Many thanks to a great Air Force officer, Colonel Morton Jacobs for this rendition of Air Force Blue. My brother Jug and I got to meet Mitch Miller when we were in Palmer High School and served as ushers at the Palmer Community Concerts about 1947-48. Miller was playing oboe with The Daniel Salzberg Symphonette. We remembered he performed in a worn-out tux. The Palmer folks did not take friendly to the erie sounds of the oboe, and it seemed that Miller was featured on every other number throughout the concert. Miller did well when he got into choral groups and pop songs.

Thanks Colonel Jacobs for this great memory…it will always be one of my favorite songs.
