Palmer, Massachusetts living with our mother, Margaret Elizabeth (Lane) St.

I had been living out of a duffle bag since I
entered the Air Force on the 26th of February 1951. On the chance
that I could qualify for the USAF Lockland AFB Band of the West, I
was sent from my New England place of enlistment to Texas (most
enlistees were taking their basic training at Samson Air Base in
